History
The parent organization IMA began modestly in 1949, as a trading
house in imported non-ferrous metals. Subsequently, IMA diversified into marketing
and distribution of critical items for power generation, transmission and distribution.
Prestigious representations that remain very much active include Thomas Bolton &
Sons (UK), Tenaris (Italy),
and BICC (UK), among others.
In 1978, IMA began expanding its activities into the oil & gas
sector, a move highlighted by its re-christening as idec, so as to project its expertise
